SugarCRM develops CRM software in three versions: Sugar Community Edition, Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise. Each product is produced from the same code tree with Sugar Community Edition containing roughly 85 percent of the functionality contained in Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise. The products are based on the LAMP stack of Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP, although it is also well suited to running on other platforms that can deliver Apache, MySQL and PHP such as Windows, Solaris and MacOS. SugarCRM can also use alternative databases such as Oracle. Sugar Community Edition is free of charge; Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise are sold at an annual subscription.
